After reading the book description, I was expecting a fast-paced book full of action, murder and romance. Justine Jones from Carolyn Crane's Disillusionist Trilogy. I Mind Games is not romance, but it has strong romantic elements. Justine could probably be your best friend, if she wasn't terrified to be outside. Mind Games was most of the time uneventful except for the dream from Packard's childhood and the cannibal sleepwalkers' attacks. When we first meet the heroine of Crane's Mind Games, she has a crippling phobia of germs. I found it fresh, exciting, thought-provoking, mordantly funny, scary, and sexy. Justine was a bit too whiny for my taste. Between the first book, Dead, Undead or Somewhere in Between, and the second, Renfield Syndrome, she finds acceptance and has it ripped away, but I assure you Rhiannon gets stronger for it. Justine faces a crisis of conscience as she tests the limits Mind Games. Mind Games is the debut urban fantasy novel — the first of a trilogy — by Carolyn Crane, someone well known to the online romance community for her irreverent blog, The Thrillionth Page. Justine Jones: Disillusionists Trilogy Book 1. I guess the title is fitting because Carolyn Crane likes to play mind games with us.
